1st Pharmacy University of India DPSRU signs MoU with world’s first Pharmacy University CPU
Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU), New Delhi, the first Pharmacy University of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the world’s first Pharmacy University China Pharmaceutical University (CPU), Nanjing. The MoU was signed between the Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Ramesh K Goyal, DPSRU and the Vice President, CPU Prof. Lingyi Kong, on October 21, 2019 in the presence Dr Mahaveer, the faculty from DPSRU and other staff members of CPU.
This MoU will enable free research collaboration with CPU. It is also planned to have some unique postgraduate level programs in International Pharmacy Economics & Trade, International Drug Regulatory Affairs, Medical Artificial Intelligence and Sports Pharmacy, and Integrated Ayurvedic & Chinese Traditional Medicines for formulation development as well as clinical trials as per the requirements of both the countries. This MoU will allow student exchange, faculty exchange and development of history of pharmacy museum in the University.
The VC of DPSRU was also invited as Guest of Honour by Prof. Wei Wang, Furong Distinguished Professor and Director, in the opening ceremony of 5th Hunan International Bio Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Forum at Hunan University of Chinese Medicine (HUCM), Changsha, Hunan, China. The President, Vice President and Deans of HUCM also had a meeting with DPSRU VC. This will have the impact in similar lines as with CPU in herbal research.
DPSRU has Centers of Excellence of having Ocular Pharmacology laboratory, Herbal Drug Technology, BioNest Center, Clinical Research (BA/BE Center), Innovation and incubation Centre (DIIF) and Nanotechnology along with skill development courses in Beauty and Wellness, Sports Digitalization and Performance Management, Sports Fitness and Yoga Application. Dy CM Shri Manish Sisodia appreciated the University for taking such initiatives and is optimistic of the fruitful results. Recently, the University launched a first in oral formulation for renal patients undergoing dialysis and is ready to launch a few more.
