Renowned expert of IPR & Project Management

Shri Padmin Buch is currently working as a Project Management and IPR domain expert. Before this he was working as Managing Director I/c.; GITCO, Ahmedabad. Earlier he worked with Sarabhai Group, Baroda in the area of Production & Production planning. He possesses more than 25 years of combined experience in Industry and Consultancy & Development work in Project Management and IPR fields. His special initiative includes establishment of Patent Assistance Cell (PAC) at GITCO. GITCO Patent Cell has filed 60 patents so far as well as Knowledge partner to several national & international seminars on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). He serves as a National expert for Cluster Development Programmes at Indore, Hyderabad & Dehradun by SIDBI & Foundation for MSME Clusters, New Delhi. He has been invited as a speaker in many National & International Conferences on IPR and serves as a visiting faculty at

EDII, AMA, FICCI, CII, GTU, NIRMA UNI., CEPT University and other Institutions in Gujarat & outside. He is involved in many Government committees like – Technology Up gradation Fund Committee; Government of Gujarat – Steering Committee on IPR, GUJCOST, Gandhinagar – Chairman, Extension Services Committee and Member Governing Council, Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), – Member, Executive Committee, Indian Pharmaceutical Association(IPA), Gujarat branch – On the Board of M/s. He received The Pedagogical Innovation Award-2013 from The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) for innovative contribution in the field of IPR & Patents.

Prof.(Dr) Akshai Aggarwal
Ex. Vice-Chancellor, GTU

Dr. Akshai Aggarwal is the Former Vice-Chancellor of the Gujarat Technological University (GTU). Dr. Akshai Aggarwal was Director, School of Computer Science at University of Windsor before he joined GTU on June 8, 2010. Dr. Aggarwal started his teaching career at Faculty of Technology, M. S. University of Baroda. From 1984-89 he was Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, which included Computer Engineering and Applications. From 1987-1989, he worked as the Dean of Students. He was also Chairman of Computer Society of India, Vadodara Center during 1988-90. He was active in the Book Bank for poor students and in helping the citizens organize cultural activities. He chaired the celebrations of 50 years of Gujarati Cinema under which the first book on Gujarati Cinema was published.

From 1989-99, Dr. Aggarwal worked as Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science, Rollwalla Computer Center, Gujarat University. He was also Chairman of IEEE Gujarat Section and its Computer Society Chapter from 1990 to 1998. For two years 1998-1999, he was Chairman of IEEE India Council, which had 10 Sections and 275 Student Branches in all IITs and at other educational institutions. He is a Fellow of the IETE. At University of Windsor, Dr. Aggarwal was recognized as both a passionate teacher and researcher in his field. He has earned numerous awards:
(i) Six annual best teaching awards, based on student evaluations from the Faculty of Science.
(ii) Performance Award based on excellent research and teaching from the Faculty of Science
(iii) The OPUS Faculty Award 2005,
(iv) The Alumni Award for Distinguished Contributions to University Teaching 2006, based on evaluations by the alumni and the students
(v) OCUFA Teaching Award 2007 based on evaluations by other faculty members of other Universities, the alumni and the students

At the University of Windsor, he set up the High Performance and Grid Computing Research Group. HPGC has three Centers. These are the Center for Studies in Security and Privacy, Center for Health Information Systems and Center for Studies in Social Networks. He is a person who feels that a University is a public institution with a responsibility to the community. Moreover he has been contributing to both the professional as well as the local community organizations. At Windsor, when he saw that the economy of the city was bleeding due to high unemployment, he founded Softech Alliance and chaired it till September 2009 so that University researchers and the ICT community could work together with the government to help generate new jobs in the knowledge sector.

He joined GTU on 8th June 2010. During this year the following initiatives have been taken:
• Excellence in learning processes by using IT and by bringing together the resources from the large numbers and using them optimally.
• Making technology teaching more practice oriented.
• GTU Innovation Council.
• Improving the quality of Master’s dissertations.
• World class doctoral program.

Dr. S.P. Adeshara
EX-FDCA Commissioner

Dr. S.P. Adeshara, Former Commissioner, FDCA, Gujarat and Member Pharmexcil has also joined the Board of Advisors of Accuprec Research Labs Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. Adeshara has remained as the Commissioner , FDCA Gujarat State for more than 11 years and been instrumental actively involved in the process of Regulatory Reforms for Indian Medical Device Industry by Ministry Of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Being the head of FDCA in Gujarat State, which has more than 30 % contribution in the production of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices in India, his role has been prominent in implementation of the Regulatory Reforms while at the same time mentoring Indian Medical Device Industry for facing the challenges of reforms.

Previously he was in prestigious corporates like Sarabhai Pharma, Cadila Laboratories, Zydus Group, Sahjanand Medical Technologies etc. On academic front, he served as chairperson of The B. V. Patel PERD Centre Trust, member of GTU Kotler’s Incubator Program for Pharmacy

Achievements:

  • Awarded “BEST DRUG CONTROLLER OF 2002” by AIDCOF for Sincere and Outstanding Works in Drug Control Administration.
  • Indian Pharmaceutical Association has awarded “I.P.A.FELLOWSHIP 2002” for distinguished & Dedicated Service to the Profession of Pharmacy.
  • ‘DIWA’, Maharashtra State, (Drugs Inspectors Welfare Association) awarded ‘DIWA AWARD 2002’ for the Valuable Regulatory contribution in Pharmacy Profession in Gujarat.
  • Awarded “SCHROFF MEMORIAL NATIONAL AWARD – 2005” by IHPA in 57th IPC at HYDERABAD.

Dr. Jaimin Vasa

Leading Industrialist Jaimin Vasa has also joined the BoA of Accuprec Research Labs Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Jaimin R. Vasa, B.E Chemical Engineering had done his PhD in Management in the year 2016 under the guidance of Dr. Akashai Agarwal, Ex-Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University. Dr. Vasa is the first PhD degree holder in Faculty of Management from Gujarat Technological University (GTU). His PhD Research Topic was “A Comparative Study of SME Contribution in India & China – A Study of Selected Sectors i.e. Chemical, Pharma & Textile Sectors in India & China”. Dr. Jaimin Vasa is the author of the book “Competitive Strategies for Indian SMEs – Lessons from China”. This book was published on 18th May 2017 by Ms. MamtaVerama IAS, Industries Commissioner, Govt. Of Gujarat and Mr. J.K. Dash, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India. M/s R.R. Sheth& Company is the publisher of this book.

Dr. Vasa is the Chairman and Managing Director of Vasa PharmachemPvt Limited a flagship company of Vasa Group of Companies manufacturing various Industrial Chemicals and Pharmaceutical raw materials like Excipients, Active Pharma Ingredients, Personal Healthcare and Neutraceuticals etc. M/s Vasa PharmachemPvt Ltd. has achieved many recognitions and awards from various State & Central Government agencies

Dr. Vasa is Sr. Vice President, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Since 2000, Dr. Vasa is associated with Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) in various capacitates as an Executive Committee Member, Chairman, MSME Committee and Chairman, Foreign Trade Committee. As a Committee Chairman of different committee, Dr. Vasa, hadorganised many significant activities like seminar, conclave, conference and panel discussions for the larger interest of trade and industries in the SME sector. Since 2000, Dr. Vasa is a President of Gujarat Chemical Association also President of Gujarat Pharmaceutical Association. Dr. Vasa was Vice Chairman of Gujarat Innovation Society.

Dr. Vasu Appanna
Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Science, Laurentian University (LU), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

Dr. Vasu Appanna is the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Laurentian University since 2010 He has been at LU since 1989 as a Professor of Biochemistry and served as the Chair of the Department for six years. He completed his BSc from the University of Bombay, his MSc from the University of Wales, and his PhD from the University of Waterloo.

He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of bio-technology, metabolism and cellular adaptation and toxicology. He has supervised the first doctoral student at Laurentian University and over 115 HQP (BSc, MSc, PhD,Post-doctaral, research associate).

Dr. Appanna has led various funded projects with numerous countries including Russia, Vietnam, China and France. He is the editor of numerous journals. He sits on various organizations and boards, including AMRIC (Applied Medical Research Institute of Canada) and MIRARCO. He has served on different granting agencies like the Department of Energy, (DOE, USA) and the Ministry of Research and Innovation, Ontario. He is consulted world-wide in biotechnology. He is commercializing a biomining process and a kit to detect homocysteine, a marker for numerous diseases. He is also the academic editor of PLOS ONE and numerous journals.

Prof.(Dr) Anamik Shah
Former Vice-Chancellor, Gujarat Vidyapith

Professor Dr. Anamik Shah served as the Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad for 2 consecutive terms. Apart from his responsibility at Gujarat Vidyapith, Prof. Shah has completed his tenure as Professor at Department of Chemistry, Saurashtra University on 31st October, 2016; and served as Principal Investigator at Center of Excellence in Drug Discovery, NFDD Complex, Saurashtra University, where multiple other projects have been successfully completed under his direct supervision. Prof. Shah has been awarded BSR Professorship from UGC for three years and he has guided 70 students for their doctoral degree at Saurashtra University.

Interestingly, the Department of Chemistry when established in 1979 under the stewardship of Professor V. M. Thakor, he has the Honour of being first Ph.D. scholar from the newly established department at Rajkot Campus. After appointment as a faculty member at Saurashtra University in 1983, for last 33 years, Professor Anamik Shah has taught Organic, Medicinal, Environmental and Pharma Analytical Chemistry.

Professor Anamik Shah is one of the academic researcher who pioneered industry-academic linkages, by working in several projects on Drug Discovery & also Process Chemistry with Alembic Ltd, Dabur Research Foundation, Claris life sciences, Astrazeneca, Specs biospecs, Nicolas Pirmal, Piramal Research Center, Zydus Research Center and many others. Prof. Shah has also successfully worked on more than 16 National and International Research Projects and have trained several aspirants under his able guidance.

Professor Shah has initiated to create a unique facility “National Facility for Drug Discovery Complex” to support small and medium pharmaceutical & chemical manufacturing units of the region, with initial grant of Rs. 8 Crore under DST (DPRP) Project. It was aimed and successfully worked out as a sophisticated analytical and well-equipped research facility in a separate building, jointly funded by the Department of Science and technology (DST-DPRP) and Industries commissionerate Government of Gujarat, Gandhinagar and generous donation by noted philanthropist late Dr. Dipchand Gardi with the support of Saurashtra University authorities.

Professor Shah has been granted a project of Rs. 13.19 Crore for the establishment of “Center of Excellence” at National Facility for Drug Discovery Complex. In addition to this he has several project from DST, DBT, CSIR, UGC, OSDD, MSMEs and other funding agencies. Moreover, Professor Shah has successfully run research programs of more than 8 core of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. Along with this he has also supervised project like National Institute of Health (NIH)-USA, Department of Atomic Energy, National Medicinal Plant Board – New Delhi, on diversified fields of medicinal chemistry research on anti HIV, anticancer and antitubercular drug discovery.

Prof. Shah has also initiated a green effort of “Facility for Preservation of Molecular Diversity” [FPMD], which provides facility to preserve the valuable research molecules in the repository. Till now, more than 10,000 molecules from various universities and research institutions have been collected, indexed, and being preserved for potential future applications.

He is currently a President of Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists, Lucknow, which is one of the leading scientific society of India with more than 2200 active members. Prior to the current position, he also served as Vice President of the society during 2002 to 2010.

Professor Shah has pursued his degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Chemistry) in year 1983, Master of Science in year 1977, and Special LLB in year 1988. He is awarded by International Scientific Partnership Foundation, Russia.

Mr. Rajiv Mehta

Mr. Rajiv Mehta is well-known industrialist. Various positions he held includes Executive Director of CEL Packaging Private limited. It is one of India’s Largest Corrugated Packaging Company & Executive Director of Chrysalis Finance Limited (CFL). CFL is Non-Banking financial company. He is Founder Member & Coordinator of Eklavya Education Foundation. He is Vice President – Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) and Member Regional Governig Board Indian
Institute of Packaging ( IIP).

He has taken many sessions in the subjects like Packaging, Management, Logistics, Retail Marketing at various colleges, Ahmedabad Management Association, Indian Institute of Managment, Various Chamber of Commerces, Exim Club, CII, IIMM etc… He has international Business exposure through many foreign tours to more than 30 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and America. He is President of Ahmedabad Management Association.

Dr. B. P. Singh
Former Chairman In-Charge IPAB

Dr. B P Singh is an Engineer-Turned-Lawyer. He holds academic Degrees in the field of Electrical Engineering, LL.B, LL.M and Doctor of Philosophy in Law. Dr. Singh started his career with Indian Air Force before switching over to the field of Patents about 27 years ago. He served Indian Patent Office as Controller of Patents for about 17 years. He also functioned as Registrar of Semi-conductor Integrated Circuit Layout Design Registry (SICLDR). Dr. Singh was instrumental in re-engineering of Patent Granting Procedures and formulation of several procedural guidelines. Dr. Singh has also functioned as Head of Intellectual Property Office, Delhi as well as Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM), Nagpur.
